Children's Museum of Illinois

On Wednesday Gigi brought Nat and Jo to Decatur for the day. We went and ordered special shirts for our cruise...can't wait to see them and then off to lunch at the Beach House. Gigi had never been there before and said they had the best fish tacos she's ever had. The girls enjoyed the flatbreads while I had my favorite chopped salad. After wards we hit up the Heros Hall at the Children's Museum. The girls spent two hours dressing up, playing together and having a good time. It was a day well spent. Leah missed out on all the fun because she was at her friend Eleanor's. She didn't seem to upset to miss it. Ten going on Seventeen, ha!

Little Theater

I think last Friday was a dream come true for Gigi. Finally, after her taking our kids to the Little Theater for 7 years, Natalie and Joanna were home and she got to take ALL 8 of her grandkids to a show. We saw Superkids. It was cute, definitely not my favorite. Macy and Leah were totally rolling their eyes, because they were way too grown up for it. But Kiersten and Hattie were just thrilled to be there with Nat and Jo.

Afterwards we headed back to Decatur. Mitch met us for lunch at Las Margaritas and then we hit up the Zoo for the afternoon. And lucky for us it was a cool day for July. There was a breeze and we couldn't have had better weather. The train and carousel were a big hit...they always are!

Arizona Wildcat two time Champion

To say that I'm proud of my sister would be an understatement. I want everyone to know that shes amazing. She's killing it on a professional level and as a mother to two young girls. I won't ever forget the excitement of watching her team bring the National Championship back to Arizona in May of 2018. And the only thing better than watching it, was watching my girls watch it. They were rooting so hard for the Wildcats! Most people don't know, or don't remember but she was actually a player on the team the last time Arizona won. I'm not sure how many ladies have won it as a player and a coach but I bet that number is pretty low. Sometimes she doesn't give herself enough credit...so I will. She is pretty remarkable!

While she and Jeff were home the Charleston Country Club hosted an Open House to celebrate her success. They had a wonderful turnout. I got to see faces I hadn't seen in several years. And it was fun for all the cousins to be together too. Side note, Leah and Mitch were not there because Leah had a softball game and it was the last game of the season...the tournament. I made her honor her obligation. She was not happy. But she got to spend lots of time with Aunt Laura and we know she is proud too. It was a great night to cheer on my sister and her success.

4th of July fun with family!

Oh how we love when Aunt Laura and Uncle Jeff come to town!!! There is just something so special about seeing all these girl cousins together. Of course we would have loved to have Macy, Colby and Jackson with us too but they were out at the lake for the holiday. Laura and Jeff came straight to Mt. Zion from the airport so we could go to Fletcher Park. We enjoyed some play time at the house, enjoyed Pizza for dinner and got to the park just in time for the show. The girls had fun with glow sticks, enjoyed a slushy and then cheered on the fireworks. Cheers to family fun on the 4th!
