Periwinkle

This costume...swoon! The color is so perfect, and matches her icy blue eyes so perfectly. I have no idea what song she is ballet dancing too, and it doesn't even matter. She insisted on holding the Peony for most of the photo shoot...I argued with her a few times but the pop of color is amazing! Don't tell her she was right, Lol!

Hattie's tap outfit this year has me swooning! When I saw it on the hanger I was unimpressed but after I saw her in it...It was love. This little girl loves all the sparkle that comes with dance. I hope she always continues to be a little ray of sunshine! They danced to the closing song of the movie Tangled. Everytime we watch that movie I make the girls watch the credits so I can listen....Perfection!

Friday Night Lights

Okay, so they aren't the Friday Night Lights you are thinking of...more like a camera flash!!! Two years in a row we have met up with the fabulous Lisa Hastings at Allerton Park in Monticello for dance recital pictures. This year it was a good 15 degrees cooler and the setting (and company) certainly did not disappoint. It's so fun to see the girls excited about their costumes and upcoming recital. So it's worth it to pay...to let them be little and experiencing this joy. Lisa is fantastic. If you need a photographer in the Macon County area we give her two thumbs up! And now the picture overload!!! I'll split them up by costume...Kiersten's tap first! They are dancing to "Happy"!

Summer family fun!

We always love family fun! Especially when it includes Aunt Laura, Nat and Jo! Last week they arrived in Illinois for a quick visit. We certainly made the most of our time together. We went to the Mattoon Country Club on Thursday and soaked up some sun by the pool. Afterwards we went to Gigi and Papas. The kids played outside and we enjoyed some Paglia’s pizza for dinner. 

Friday was busy! We had scheduled dance pictures back in April. That meant a trip to see Noelle at the Little Salon too. But in between our hair appointment and photo shoot we managed to get over to Tuscola for a little birthday shopping spree! The girls each got to pick out lots of cute things thanks to Aunt Laura and Gigi! 

On Saturday we met up at the Aikman Wildlife Center in Arthur. The kids loved it! The hot a kick out of a camel that spit...A LOT! And when we were leaving there was a wild animal trying to eat the windshield wipers off the back of the van. When we finished up the tour Aunt Laura took all the kids back to Charleston for the night. That meant Mitch and I got a date night! Thanks, Aunt Laura!!! But they all had some fun of their own too. Papa and Aunt Laura Gabe then golf lessons at the Charleston club and then Freddy’s for dinner.

Sunday ended up being another fun pool day! But we didn’t stay too long, because Gigi had birthday dinner planned back at the house. The Highlight was bbq ribs from the Stadium Grill and then she had a different dessert for each June birthday. Jo had white cake and frosting, Colby had Banana Cream Pie, Hattie has strawberry Cheesecake and I had chocolate cake. We had plenty!

The kids all ended up staying at Gigi and Papas again on Sunday. Monday they came over to Mt. Zion and we went to see the new DISNEY movie Aladdin. It was great and the kids all loved it. Then we said our goodbyes. There were tears, always are. Counting down until our next catch up!
