Aunt Lori, Lexi and Shelby stayed up on top a little longer than we did and then met us back down at the bottom. They commented how it was much cooler than they would have expected and they were glad that they got to see it...we're happy we were able to take them. Then we spent a little time checking out the museum. It is an amazing museum that documents a lot of westward expansion, mostly Lewis and Clark. Back in 2006 when I first met Mitch's family we were staying at Lori and Todd's house. Shelby was 9 (I think) and doing history homework about Lewis and Clark and I had fun helping her...our lesson came full circle on Friday.

Up Top
Oh, the anticipation. Leah was so excited and so happy to be going up top of the arch!!! Then we got there. The pictures aren't exactly in order, but you will get the jist. We got up there, snapped some pictures, and then we put Leah on the "ledge" to look out the windows...wow, she DID NOT like it. Kiersten was so excited and was smiling and laughing and banging on the windows (is that safe?), but not Leah...she was in tears and begging us to take her back down. So that's what we did. Since Mitch and I had been up before we didn't need to spend a lot of time up there, we took the girls and headed back down. The picture of Leah in tears is in our capsule on the way back down. Well, at least she can say she did it, HA! And she's been telling anyone who will listen that she didn't like the arch ever since. The cashier at Wal-Mart yesterday thought it was a hoot. I love the family photo we got up on top, not too many opportunities for those...Thanks, Aunt Lori!
