Library Trip

Yesterday Hattie had a school field trip to the library. I think no matter what age you are, the trips to the library are always fun. The librarian did some activities with the kids in a private room. They read some stories and sang some songs. And then they were free to play in the Children's area.

Hattie had a great time playing in the Puppet Theater with her friend Brexton, and then we spent a good half hour or so completing two different floor puzzles. She's getting so big, growing so fast, and talking more and more and BETTER all the time. Where did my baby go??? I'm going to miss her when she does to school full time.

Red Ribbons

This Kid! So proud of my little Bug. She has gotten 4 red ribbons from school this year. There are only 3 in the picture because one wouldn't stick. Anyway, at McGaughey they are asked to model the 3 R's. They stand for Respectful, Responsible and Ready. And when you are recognized by the Principal for demonstrating all 3 R's in one day she calls your name over the intercom and you get to come to the office to get your Red Ribbon. Things like this help me remember that even on my worst days, when I feel like I am getting it all wrong, I am getting at least this one thing right! She is a sweetheart and I hope she always knows how proud I am of her.

100 Days Smarter

Yesterday was Kiersten's 100th day of Kindergarten. She was so excited! Mrs. Reatherford sent a letter home the week before with ideas of how they were going to celebrate. Kiersten wanted to dress like she was 100. So I grabbed a long skirt, some granny glasses and a cardigan sweater. I ordered some Gray hair spray from Amazon and we made it work. I love the little crabby face she is making. She loves school...she is a sponge and just soaks it all up. I hope that will continue for many years to come.

Puzzled

When we were in Arizona over Christmas we went to visit the Grand Canyon. We let each girl get a souvenir gift. Leah chose a Grand Canyon puzzle. This is the first "grown up" puzzle that she has done. Mitch and her worked on it for little bits of time here and there, and occasionally the little sisters got to help. Well in one months time they were able to get all 500 pieces in the right place. They were very excited with the finished project. And now I'm off to Walmart in search of more puzzles to be done.

Tooth-tastic!

Hallelujah! It finally happened. I think for the last 2 years Leah has been asking when she is going to lose a tooth. We were so excited when she noticed her first loose tooth back in September...yes, September. She was reluctant to wiggle it. Always said she was scared, she didn't want it to hurt...so we let it be.

Slowly but surely it began to wiggle a little more and more. While we were in Minnesota for Christmas it really started moving. There were a few times we thought it was on its way out. So we left Minnesota on Sunday morning and sure enough, as we were pulling into our lunch pit stop it came out. Excited doesn't even begin to tell how she was feeling. After 7+ years she is finally getting her first visit from the tooth fairy.

Addendum: A few days later she lost tooth #2!
