Watch Night

These girls just absolutely love dance! And a few times a year the parents are invited in to watch them at work. This time of year is fun, because they are getting ready for the recital so you get a little peak at what they are working on. Hattie's class is doing "I enjoy being a girl" for their ballet routine. There might be a little hair flip involved and its just the cutest. For tap they are dancing to "you're never fully dressed without a smile." Ms. Carrie never disappoints so I know it is going to be the cutest.

Kiersten seriously just loves all things dance. I think she's got show choir in her future...fortunately Mt. Zion is a good place for that. Her ballet routine is to "Beauty and the Beast" with a gorgeous yellow costume. For Tap they are doing Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl" and that song just has a way of working its way into your head. I can't stop singing it! Not sure about her jazz routine, but I know shes going to rock it!

My Loves!

It's February...that means Valentines! Mt. Zion schools had their class parties this week. I went to celebrate with Kiersten on Tuesday and didn't take a single picture. Yesterday, on Valentines Day I went to celebrate with Hattie. They did a craft, played a game and enjoyed Ice Cream sundaes. Of course Hattie had to get a picture with her favorite Valentine, Alec.

The girls received a box of Mrs. Fields cookies from Gigi and Papa. Aunt Lori and Uncle Todd sent them new blankets. We got the girls some books, new clothes and Hattie got the My Little Pony movie. I got Leah and Kiersten journals that they can write in and share with Gigi. I think they are excited to share and learn more about her life...to ask questions about what life was like when she was a girl.

Valentines Night was perfect. Mitch arrived home from a long trip to China. We were all happy to see him. And ready to get back to our regular routine.

And just like that...

So Leah has always been a bit boy crazy...shes always talked about her boyfriends. For the past two years shes been a little more reserved but has shared a close friendship with Mark. Now that she is in fourth grade and attending Intermediate school she gets to attend Spring Fling...its a party/dance of sorts for just the kids at that school.

I didn't even know this was a thing, but apparently the boys ask the girls to go as their "date". Leah was thrilled that Mark asked her to be his date. They have a special friendship. They love to text and facetime. I'm not sure I'm ready for this!!! But at least hes a nice boy and his mom and I chat to make sure they are on the right track!
