New Room

Back in June, Bug and I set out on a mission to redo her room. I’ve loved her aqua cupcake room. She had that bedding and artwork in her old room before we moved here...5 years ago!

She wanted a more Southwest vibe 🏜🌵 so that’s what we did. We found the bedding first and went from there. We stripped her white furniture. She picked the light gray for the furniture and the blush for the walls. We both love how it turned out. Last night we headed to Hobby Lobby and picked up a few things for the walls. And I found the perfect Boho Steer Skull on Etsy. This room is the cutest. I should really work on my own room one of these days.

We’re home!

One night in Minnesota
5 nights in Nevada (girls stayed in MN)
Another night in Minnesota
11 nights in Arizona
3 awesome travel companions
2 adorable nieces
And 1 sweet new puppy girl!!!

And we are home!!!

The real honest truth is that it wasn’t always sunshine and roses. The girls got sick of each other...I yelled at them probably more than I should have. But we survived and made amazing memories.

To end our vacay Mitchell had the sweetest little 4 month old pup waiting for us at the airport. That made it a little easier to be home. Meet Piper!!!

We “heart” Tucson

To say we love Tucson would be an understatement. It breaks my heart every time we have to leave. The girls get so sad, too. They remind me often that they are going to live here someday. They have big plans to go to college here...I wouldn’t be sad!!! I’d love for them to get far away from Illinois.

So when Laura and Jeff asked us to come out and help look after Nat and Jo, it was a no brained! We’ve been here for 11 days and no where near ready to go home. We’ve enjoyed the pool, we have had plenty of gelato, Leah and I had a pedicure. We celebrated two birthdays. But most of all we just had summer fun!

#Besties

To quote Hattie “I’m so lucky Khegan moves to a place that we visit!”

Ain’t that the truth!!! So while we’ve been in Tucson we have had the opportunity to spend lots of time with Hattie’s bff Khegan. Ra’Kel and I were trying to figure out how long they’ve been friends. It was surely right before they both turned 3 and now they’re 7. Hattie was so upset when Khegan moved...but like she said, at least it’s Tucson! They have had two sleepovers this trip. We went to the trampoline park twice and we had a pool play date at the Omni. I hope they stay friends forever!

The Lion King

So while we are in Arizona the new Lion King movie premieres! Lucky for us Aunt Laura and Uncle Jeff had a birthday party planned that included going to the movie! On Saturday morning we headed to Century Theater in Oro Valley to watch the new film. My girls wee especially excited because Queen Beyoncé played Nala.

Once the movie was done we piled into the party room. We enjoyed cake and pizza and sang (belated) Happy birthday to little Joanna! It was fun to celebrate with family...again!

Happy Birthday Uncle Jeff

Laura and Jeff were scheduled to return from their trip on Friday...which was also Uncle Jeff’s Birthday! Joanna has been all about watching baking clips on the Alexa Echo so we decided we needed to make Uncle Jeff some cupcakes. Jojo told me that her dad likes chocolate so I found a killer chocolate cupcake recipe on pinterest. And it actually recommended a Butterbeer Buttercream frosting. Perfect for my Harry Potter loving girls.

Jo and Kiersten loved helping me make the cupcakes. Nat was excited to help with the frosting. The girls all made homemade cards and Uncle Jeff’s Birthday was a hot! Super fun to celebrate with family.

Hello Arizona

After we wrapped up our time in Minnesota the girls and I hopped on a plane in Minneapolis and headed for Tucson! Aunt Laura and Uncle Jeff are going on a trip to celebrate their 10th anniversary, so we are hanging out at their new place, sleeping over with our cousins and planning on lots of pool time! It’s always fun to see all these girls together. Going to enjoy it while we can!

Lobster Lake and Grand Rapids

While Mitch and I were  enjoying Nevada, the girls were having a great time with family in Minnesota. They spent Sunday and Monday night with Grandma Tootie and Grandpa Dave and the rest of the week at Aunt Lori and Uncle Todd’s house before meeting back up at Lobster Lake.

They got in lots of fishing, boat rides and more. Aunt Lori took them on a mining cave tour and they got to see the new Spider-Man movie. On Friday night we all joined together at the lake. We made pizzas and reubens over the campfire. On Saturday they got in some tubing with their cousins and certainly enjoyed hanging out in Jakes hammock before we hit the road for Arizona! It was time we’ll spent for sure.
