Thanksgiving ‘23

What a relaxing turkey day! Kiersten helped Papa with some yard work. Mitch cooked us an excellent Turkey, and we crashed on the couch watching football. Got the tree up and ended the night watching the Santa Clause. We are thankful!

Kiersten is IMX

IMX (Extreme) was this weekend and Kiersten qualified for this big meet. When she saw the line-up she had second thoughts. She got sick on Wednesday, but she still showed up and gave it her all. Most of these races she had never swam, so it was good to get an idea of where she stands.  The 40 second drop in the 500 was exciting, she swam it last season. Looking forward to seeing how she keeps progressing! Way to hang tough, Bug.

Hattie is IMR

Miss Hattie qualified to swim IMR (Ready) this weekend and Boy was she READY!! Some of these races she swam in September and a few were from last year (100 backstroke). But she had amazing time drops!

She’s working so hard and it’s paying off. She had a great time with new teammates. And shes already setting goals for her next meet. Leah qualified for the meet as well. But she scratched her races…sick at home, in bed. It was a bummer seeing the empty lanes where she was supposed to be shining bright. There’s always next time!

Sophomore Swim Season

That’s a wrap on her Sophomore High School season…and what a season it was! She didn’t know what to expect moving to a school with a legit swim team this year. And with 60 kids on the team she thought she’d be lucky to be included at an invitational or two. She worked hard, and had time drops week after week. She ended the season qualifying for high school state champs in the 100 Fly, 100 backstroke and the alternate for the 200 medley relay.

Going in to the meet she was seeded 20th in the fly, she dropped two seconds and finished 18th. Going into the backstroke she was seeded 12th. She was disappointed in her prelim swim on Friday night but came back to drop time and finish 11th in the finals today. Not too bad for a sophomore!

Over the course of the season she dropped 3 seconds in her 50 back. She dropped 1.5 seconds in her 100 back. She dropped 4 seconds in her 200 IM and almost 5 🖐🏼 seconds in her 100 fly!!!

The hours in the pool are paying off. And to top it all off, she was named “Most Promising” at the High School Swim Banquet. Now bring on club season. It’s just gonna keep getting better. Proud of you,

Shelby in Arizon

How lucky are we that our sweet niece wanted to come for a visit! We had a great weekend with Shelby. We showed her Tohono Chul, San Xavier Mission and got in a hike at Pusch Ridge and Sabino Canyon. We played bags at Gigis and enjoyed the hot tub, and took in some live music on the patio at Noble Hops. It was a great catch up with one of our favorite girls!

Happy Halloween

What a weird Halloween…it was 75 degrees and sunny. The kids made plans with friends and were on their own for the most part. The houses in our neighborhood were decorated crazy good!
