Swim State Champs

That’s a wrap on her Sophomore High School season…and what a season it was! She didn’t know what to expect moving to a school with a legit swim team this year. And with 60 kids on the team she thought she’d be lucky to be included at an invitational or two. She worked hard, and had time drops week after week. She ended the season qualifying for high school state champs in the 100 Fly, 100 backstroke and the alternate for the 200 medley relay.

Going in to the meet she was seeded 20th in the fly, she dropped two seconds and finished 18th. Going into the backstroke she was seeded 12th. She was disappointed in her prelim swim on Friday night but came back to drop time and finish 11th in the finals today. Not too bad for a sophomore!

Over the course of the season she dropped 3 seconds in her 50 back. She dropped 1.5 seconds in her 100 back. She dropped 4 seconds in her 200 IM and almost 5 seconds in her 100 fly!!!

The hours in the pool are paying off. Now bring on club season. It’s just gonna keep getting better. Proud of you, Leah!!
