Project

So we did a thing. Mitch has wanted to buy rental property for as long as I’ve known him. He finally pulled the trigger and we’ve spent the last 18 days fixing up our fixer upper. It’s come a long way. But so glad it’s done!!! I wish I had pictures of the bathroom before. It was super yuck with yellow laminate paneling on the walls with pink flowers. 😬 we made some
Big improvements!!!

Playing with Jackson

Our little buddy is heading back to Riley’s soon so we were so happy to squeeze in a little more time with him today. He was thrilled to play with cousin Bug and had to show her all his toys. Even his giraffe, wisely named Spot. Papa and Bug were sporting their new shirts doing some yard work. It was a hot one!

Swim Camp!

This year for Leah’s Birthday we sent her to swim camp. Not just any swim camp...Bruce Miller’s Swim camp. Her friend Eleanor went last year, and was going again. And everything is more fun with a friend!

She was super nervous in the days leading up to camp. And even the first two nights she had to call and check in. Finally the last night there was no phone call. She relaxed enough to just enjoy it. She really had a great time and learned so much. She was so sad when Bruce announced it was the last year...he’s retiring. At least she got to go once. And now she knows that camp isn’t so bad and will try it again in the near future!

Bringing home the hardware!

We wrapped up Kiersten’s first travel softball season this weekend with a tournament in Lincoln. The girls looked great. They were strong at the plate making contact with the ball and defense wasn’t too shabby either. I saw at least 3 pop-flys caught and they were paying attention to where to make the play. Kiersten spent 10 innings in a row behind the plate as the catcher. They beat Chatham pretty easily in the 1st game. The second game was a little more difficult, but they pulled off a 6-3 win over Olympia Fire to move on to the Championship Game.

At the bottom of the 5th inning it was tied 10-10. There was only one out and a runner on 1st. Kiersten was up to bat. She made contact and got thrown out at first but the runner scored. They won!!! It was pretty exciting stuff as fast as 8U travel softball tournaments go. Glad they went out with a bang.

Slumber Party!

For the last year...since the day after her last birthday party (I’m not even joking), Hattie has asked if her next birthday party could be a slumber party. Her sisters were at the end of 2nd grade when they had their first sleepover. But I caved. We ended up having a small party for Hattie the Monday after her birthday. Not everyone was able to stay the night. But she didn’t mind. Riley and Carly Getz and our neighbor Bella just came to play. Hattie’s 1st grade bestie, Ella Ruffner and long-time BFF from dance and the Y, Karoline Grace stayed the night. We didn’t do a whole lot while they were here but there was plenty of giggles!

Hattie is 7!

It happens every year...never fails. And Mitchell just rolls his eyes at me, but every birthday I fall into the rabbit hole looking at pictures. How did 7 creep up on us so fast??? She’s my baby!!!

Today Miss Hattie is 7!  This girl has such a big heart. She is kind, caring and most of all she is an includer. Is that even a word? It’s what I’m the most proud of. She wants to see everyone smile, she wants to see everyone happy. She’s inquisitive, and never stops asking questions...which is exhausting, but also part of her charm. Her vocabulary far surpasses what it should for her age and she’s just an all around super kid. Love her to pieces!!! We went to dinner together, her choice, Mexican! Followed by our traditional ice cream cone. Also, the lady at DQ had problems with the machine so she got a cone the size of her head 🤣 and selfies at dinner because #nationalselfieday
