Speedo Classic

Today after a busy few days visiting with Aunt Lori and dance recital we traded in our ballet slippers and bows for swim caps and sunscreen and we hit the pool deck for our first long course meet at the Speedo Classic in Springfield! This was Leah’s first 12U meet and she was nervous! She really struggled with her 50 back and kept hitting the lane line. She dropped 12 seconds in her 100 Freestyle  but where she really shined was in her 50 breast. Her seed time was 56 and she swam it in 50.9. That’s a stroke she’s been struggling with so it was awesome to watch her nail it!

Kiersten came to play! Girl was so tired and gave us some attitude but she was all game face off the block. She dropped a whopping 22 seconds in her 100 free. She did great with her 50 back dropping 5 seconds, but girl kills it in the breast stroke. She dropped almost 13 seconds in her 50 breast and looked stronger than ever.

I spent all day, a beautiful day at that, by a pool and didn’t even get to enjoy it! I did my second training session to be a strokes and turns judge. I hope these girls realize the lengths I go to for them, lol!
