We needed something to lift our spirits...2020 had been hard y’all! So the Polar Express in St Louis was just the ticket! See what I did there?!?! They were offering a socially distanced event this year so we figured why not. And if you booked a room at Union Station hotel you got 4 complimentary tickets. Sold!!!
We left Wednesday afternoon after school. We started by taking the girls to our favorite St. Louis restaurant, Baileys Range. There was only one other table on there...a good 60-70 feet away and all the employees were masked. They couldn’t get over how big the burgers were and they loved the fried pickles.
Once we got to Union Station they loved seeing all the decorations. It certainly got us in the Christmas spirit. The Polar Express was fun. There was a hobo who teased the girls a bit and the train conductor was lots of fun. The train was decorated so wonderfully! Wish we could’ve sat and enjoyed some Hot Cocoa.
After we exited the train we decided we needed to take a spin on the Union Station Ferris Wheel...we hadn’t done that since Myrtle Beach three years ago. There were far less tears this time. We ended the night watching Home Alone 2 in our hotel room. It was wonderful to get away!
