A great day in La Fortuna and Arenal. We booked a Red Lava tour so we could see the La Fortuna waterfall.we learned about the Maleku tribe, saw some of the goods they created and drank their wine. The hike to the falls was a trek, but the water felt great. Then it was on to Arenal volcano. It had an interesting history of the Costa Ricans not knowing it was an active volcano until it erupted in 1968…it continued to erupt until 2010. We hiked through the rain forest and learned about the plant life and saw Howler and Spyder monkeys among other wildlife and finished the day at a Hot Spring. The rainforest wasn’t very rainy today…it was a beautiful day!
