8 is great!

My baby is 8! What a great birthday it’s been for this girl. She is certainly loved!!! She was celebrated by the Clark’s, Mrs. Marquardt, Mrs. Rozanski, the Kendall’s, the Menegay’s, the Larson’s, the Plain’s, Emma Grubbs, officer Higgins, the Strong’s, the Duke’s, Priscilla and Dianne at First-Mid and so many more. She probably got thirty cards in the mail. We didn’t do a whole lot for her birthday. She started with cinnamon rolls and of course we had our traditional Dairy Queen Ice Cream cone. She opened gifts from our Minnesota family and since it was Father’s Day we went for a walk around lake Decatur. I surprised her with mermaid cookies from her favorite substitute teacher, Mrs. Foreman...what a treat!

We were supposed to be in Illinois but papa had a health scare and had to be tested for Covid. So we can’t go to Charleston until he gets his results. Even still we made it a great day. Happy birthday my beautiful Hattie cakes!
