Before Covid-19 Mitch and I had been talking about taking the girls to Canada for summer vacation. Specifically we were going to go to Banff, and do some of the black hills in the Dakotas. But with travel restrictions and a global pandemic we had to come up with a Plan B. Back in March I jumped on AirBnB and booked us a cabin with lake access in Barnes, WI. We knew that Matt and Cynthia’s crew would love the North Woods so we asked them to come along.
We arrived at Middle Eau Claire Lake today and it’s beautiful...if course there was a storm rolling through as we arrived. Got to the house and the power was out. It stayed out for most of the night. Mitch made dinner by flashlight. But the kids didn’t care...it’s gonna be a good week in the North Woods!
