Another weekend, another pumpkin patch…or something like that. But in all seriousness it was a BUSY weekend. Friday night was the last home football game. It was freezing so we picked the girls up during the 3rd quarter. Also, because Saturday was Carla’s trip to Chicago with ICES. Mitch and I driver her to Heyworth around 5:45 in the morning!!
They stared at the Bean in Millenium Park, walked the river, and had lunch at Gino’s. After lunch the checked out the sky deck at Sears Tower, and they ended the day with a Ferris wheel ride at Navy Pier. I think she had a good time.
Sunday we went to church, but Sunday afternoon Leah and Carla joined the High School Youth Group on a trip to Rader Farms Pumpkin Patch. Yes, they had been there before but this time they got to enjoy the whole farm. Carla played in the corn, they ate funnel cakes and more. They even went to Portillo’s for dinner and had the famous Chocolate Cale Shake.
While they were enjoying the patch Mitch and I got a bonfire going at home. I even ran to the store and grabbed a few things to make S’mores. It was a beautiful night with a full moon. It was nice to sit by the fire and talk for a few hours.
