Chuck E Cheese

Since school was out this past week but the pool wasn't open yet, I tried to find things for us to do. At the top of the list was a trip to Bloomington to Chuck E Cheese. I mean, it is a fine dining establishment afterall. I kid, I kid...but seriously. Our friends, the Harmon's moved to Bloomington last year and I knew it would be the perfect opportunity for all the girls to catch up. They picked up right were they left off, laughing and playing and having a good time. I guess, I need to find more chances for us all to get together. The girls had a blast and were really well behaved. I couldn't have asked for a better day!

Go Cardinals!

It happens once a year. We load up the van and take the 2 big sisters to a Cardinals game. We had an absolute beautiful day for it!!! They are getting to a fun age, and now that they are both playing softball they have a better understanding of the game. There were lots of questions and lots of cheering. And I swear they are our good luck charms. The Redbirds ALWAYS win when they come along. In the 7th inning, Fred bird hopped into our section so of course we went down to get a picture with him. Now that is something they will never forget!

Mt. Calvary Zoo Trip

So apparently I blinked and Hattie finished her first year of preschool. On Friday May 20th her class took a trip to the zoo. Since Leah and Kiersten were already out of school for the year they got to tag along. We saw all the same animals that we always see. One of the zoo staff members had a snake out at a picnic table so they all got a chance to pet him and ask questions.

Typically when we do the zoo we do the train OR the carousel, but since this was a special school trip we got to do both. The kids had a great time. And I'm reminded that we are so lucky to have this zoo so close by. Now on to 4's preschool....time, slow down!!!

Leah's 3rd Grade Play Day!

Thursday, May 19th was the last day of school for Mt. Zion. Leah's class was having Play day at the Grade School so I went and volunteered. She didn't know I was coming, so she was very excited to see me. When I arrived they were doing the soccer ball kick.

Then we moved over the the playground. She did some Swinging with Cami, then off to Jump Rope, and ended up spending most of her time at Dodge Ball! She wasn't fazed by all the boys at all. Krave donated ice cream for snacks. So then we were off to the picnic tables. This girls loves her cookies and cream ice cream.

After that they did some Parachute play, followed by sack races. She and Mark Mavis made a good team. Mrs. Hatayama told me that they make quite the pair. That they are good friends and always considerate of one another. That made me smile. Leah really enjoyed Mrs. Hatayama...she says she is glad she will still get to see her in the halls next year. I love that she loves school!

Leah's 1st Sleepover Party

Well, it happened. We have finally entered the slumber party stage! Leah wanted a sleepover for her birthday so I let her invite 3 friends to come stay the night.  She invited Cami White, Audrey Brent and Ella Phares.

We started off the night eating Pizza of course. The girls played outside for a while, and jumped on the trampoline. Mitch entertained them with a game of Pie Face. Even Ellen joined in for that one. She was the only one that ended up WITHOUT Pie in her face. Next up we made a craft. I took pictures of each of the girls with Leah and of the group. They painted and decorated picture frames so they would have it as a keepsake of the party. Then we did cake and presents. We got White Chocolate and Red Velvet Cupcakes from the new bakery in town...so good.

After that they headed to the basement where there was what I am guessing was a dance party. Music was blaring and girls were giggling. When they settled down to watch Beetlejuice I set up a popcorn bar for them. They filled their bowls with popcorn and lots of toppings...gummy bears, sour worms, kit kat, reese's pieces and raisenettes!

After that they watched Descendants, Star Wars and who knows what else. They say they stayed up until 4 AM...I'm not sure if that's true or not, but we had a terrible time waking them at 8AM. Leah and Audrey both had softball pictures so we had to get going. We had donut hole and fruit kabobs for them to enjoy for breakfast and then we loaded'em up and shipped'em out. They had a great time!
