One thing I’ve enjoyed in every city we’ve visited is the parks. And Madrid had plenty to chose from. On Sunday Morning we hopped on the metro and ended up near Retiró. We had a photo op in front of one of the beautiful arcs, Puerta Sol, and then we met Marga, my Spanish tutor for café.
After breakfast we enjoyed a long stroll through El Retiró. It was so beautiful. If I lived in the city it was the kind of place I would visit often. There was live music happening in several spots. There were so many beautiful flower gardens. The girls were excited, we saw peacocks and one had his feathers fanned out. Towards the end of the park we made it to the Crystal Palace, built for one of the princesses. And then we ended up near a lake. It was peaceful and lovely to stroll in the shade on a hot summer day!
