Well, its that time again! Summer break means its time for our second annual summer road trip. This year we hit the road bright and early on Saturday June 24th. We managed to drive almost 14 hours and stopped in Tucumcari, New Mexico. The girls seriously did fantastic. I was so tired of sitting but One really long day makes for a not quite as long day for day 2. And we pulled into Tucson around 3:30 PM on Sunday. Just in time to unpack and hit the pool with our cousins and Gigi.
Nat and Jo were so excited to see us. The temp was only 110...but thankfully the pool was in the shade by that time of day. After some swimming we went back to the house and ordered pizza for dinner while the girls continued to play. The next few days were filled with lots of fun! On Monday we went to Tony and Cece's for a small cookout/pool party. Hattie said it was the best pool party she'd ever been too...mostly because it is the only pool party she has ever been to. On Tuesday they got to play at the Trampoline park with some new friends who had relocated from Illinois. And that night they had a playdate with Nat and Jo while Ellen and I met up with a friend for dinner. On Wednesday we enjoyed some time at the Y pool, because it has a water slide!!! And then Gigi took us all out for Mexican for dinner.
Thursday we had our bags packed. We hit the road for cooler temps in San Diego! And Gigi packed her bags to head back to Illinois! It's always fun spending time with Gigi at her other house. We are lucky that she will host this crew!
