New Year's Eve is Papa's Birthday. On years that we are in town we get together and celebrate. Of course, Papa always said when I was a kid, it was great having a birthday on New Year's....there is always a party. And he's right. Every year they have plans. So we always celebrate with lunch. Gigi made pork loin and mashed potatoes. Papa wanted Turtle Custard Cake from Freddy's so that's what we had and it was so good! The kids enjoyed singing to him. Really it's just a good excuse for us to get together one last time before they head to Arizona for a few months. Happy Birthday, Papa!
