Covid-19 Art Class

Art class has been pretty easy. Mrs. Bradshaw and Mrs. McSherry have been sending weekly assignments. But we've been winging it on our own too. Of course there has been lots of sidewalk chalk, and the hearts for healthcare workers bunny in our window. But Mrs. Bradshaw sent out a paper mache project. The thought of the mess gave me a little bit of anxiety but the girls took the lead on this one. They did it all 100% on their own...mixing the glue, shredding the paper and shaping their figures out of foil. I stayed away, and thankfully they cleaned it all up on their own too. They were excited to paint their people too! Kiersten made hers African American because she didn't want to work on mixing paint. They are wearing 80's themed outfits she based off last years Father Daughter Dance...the female has leg warmers and all! Leah's were gymnast, doing the splits! They really did a wonderful job.

And since it's Easter I figured we needed to dye easter eggs. Only I didn't have an Egg dying kit. I did however have Shrinky Dinks. I snagged an Easter Egg template off of Pinterest, and we did our own Easter Eggs that way. The girls did them with the "3 marker challenge". That means they picked 3 markers blindfolded...sometimes 4, and colored their eggs that way. It was great fun. Maybe some day they'll decorate eggs with their own kids the same way!
