Camp CILCA ‘21

Fun in the sun! That's how I'd describe Camp Cilca. The trip normally starts with eagerness to leave our parents (we love you but we need a break). The fun really starts when we get assigned a cabin! I was in Sasse, or as others called us, sassy! The day started a fight for the last bottom bunk, it wasn't much of a fight as I was the only one there to claim it. When I was all settled I went off to play gaga ball ( a game where you slap around a ball and try not to get your knees under hit). I ended up migrating to four square a bit later. The day continued with ice breakers. We played train wreck, name game, etc.

The day continued with bracelet making, many, many bracelets. Then the time came for the main event, lake time! An hour in the sun, and a bit of chaos. King of the raft was a favorite to many, but there was only one true champion. After many rounds of wins and loses, I came out champion! Tat our mainly consisted of fighting and boating, and a bit of swimming. Next was free time. Me and my buddy stayed and swam, we played king of the raft 2.0 (non violent version). There was little break between free time and dinner. Food at Cilca is the best thing you've ever had. Our dinner consisted of  cheesy potato, pinapple and ham, with salad and cheescake. We went out a bit later for an epic game of capture the flag. Our team, The Purple Punishers, had me, my friends Ava and Julia, and most of the staff.

The next thing we did was put on a pound of bug spray and long clothing. We headed down to devotions where Pastor John led us in devotion. We sang campfire songs and prayed, and of course ate s'mores. We took quick showers and headed to bed, and readied ourselves for the day ahead.

The morning came and so did the polar bear. At 7:15 we dipped the lower half of our body in the lake. We went back to camp, cleaned up and went for breakfast. Our delicious breakfast consisted of cereal, pastries, fruit, and orange juice. After we stuffed ourself we went to clean up our cabin. we headed to devotions where we prayed, sang and danced. We had Jesus time where we prayed and read our bible in God's creation. We played some games and did some crafts. I taught Julia and Ava, Euchre with Malinda's help. Then we ate our lunch of mac and cheese. Then we had group games wich were very fun. Then we had tribe time where we played games and had more fun!

We went back to the lake where we swam, fought, and went away in kayaks. For free time my group went and played games and did crafts. Then we had our delicious dinner. After we did a game like thing. All Malindas animals ran away and we had to find them and get them to her by doing tasks. After that we head to devotions and sang, prayed, and learned. After that was flashlight tag!  Again were showers and bed.

We woke up to loud banging, the sounds of polar bear. For polar bear we had to jump in the lake after scaring away the shivers. It was cold! We got ready and headed to breakfast. We had french toast, pastries, and fruit. We had free time after, where we headed to the lake. After that we had service time. My sisters cabin cleaned bathrooms, my cabin cleaned outside and in the dining hall, and the boys cleaned around the lake. After that we had our final meal, lunch. We had nachos, fruit, and more cheescake!

So the thing with polar bear is that all campers went, but the counselor didn't, the counselors got punished by the campers. My sisters cabin did that. They dumped a bucket of ice water over her head. If all campers and counselors of a cabin went then they punished whoever they want.
That was the thing with the boys cabin and my cabin. My cabin made 2 of the female staff have a dance off with 2 of the boys. The boys made the girl staff tell a joke while being sprayed with water. Then we headed out for garbage ball. Our team lost but it was still fun! Then we packed our bags and brought them to the dining hall.

For the rest of the time we played games. Then the time came where we had to say goodbye. I left with 2 new friends and a new adventure ahead. Fun in the sun was over but God continues with us even when we are not there. He wants us to be his light upon the world. Back with our parents we went.

Camp Cilca

The First Day!

Yeah Camp was fun, but do I write as much as Leah? N.O. I brought Bea instead of Ella this year. We played a lot of games and made a few bracelets. One of my favorite games was Frogger. Annie (the cook) made a lot of good food, too. I was in cabin Eve this year with one of my friends from last year, Chloe! Bea and Chloe had some weird connection, they liked about all the same things, it was kinda creepy. I taught my cabin how to play Farkle and it was really fun.

At the Waterfront!
The waterfront was nice you could go kayaking, canoeing, and peddle-boating. they got the lilypads out on the first day, and everyone loves the lilypads. We would do jumping competitions, and games like King/Queen of the Raft, and the no touch game. I liked kayaking with Chloe and Audrey.

The 2nd day

The second day was also fun! We did archery and a lantern craft followed by Power Time in the morning. After Lunch we had Siesta Fiesta which is like a rest part of the weekend and after that we went down to the waterfront. For Free time we had the option of going to a creek that Bella found. So I did that. The creek was nice and cold, and there was a mini waterfall. I also got a beaded lizard that Bella made. After dinner, we played Animal Safari where we had to go around and fine the cousnelors that were dressed up as animals. My team had Chloe, Bea, and I on it, and guess what...we won the game! :D

The last day

The last day was so hot that we went down to the waterfront even though it wasn't on the schedule, but it was nice anyway, we also went down to the creek again. We did our service projects, my cabins project was cleaning the bathrooms, even the boys bathroom. We played Garbage Ball and it was really fun but it was super hot outside. We came back to the Dining Hall with our bags, had our final canteen and played a few games. After that, it was time to leave, we ad a lot of fun this year, and can't wait to do it in the future!
