Beach Day!

The first weekend we arrived in Valencia the girls were asking to go to the beach. With jet lag and lots to figure out it just didn’t happen. And then last weekend was Fallas so we did that instead. This weekend we had no plans, plenty of time so we hit up Playa del Puig.

Mitch had researched a bit and since it was a bit north of the city it wasn’t usually as crowded. It was a quick twenty minute drive from our house. Parking was a little crazy but we made it work. And we were just a few blocks from the beach.

Well hello, Mediterranean Sea!!! The water was very clear but not the crystal blue that we see in pictures. But it couldn’t have been a better temperature. On a hot day it was certainly inviting! The girls loved playing in the waves and said we need to get a boogie board. Adding it to the list!!!

They also had fun searching for shells. Hattie and Leah both were excited to find a conch shell. And then they attempted to make sand castles, but we had no buckets. I was amused by the random guy who came on the beach with two trash bags full of clothes, dumped them on blankets and then started walking around selling. For a while I watched several woman coming to him tossing clothes around making purchases. Not gonna lie, he did have some cute stuff!

When Mitch had looked on Google maps he didn’t see any restaurants nearby so we packed lunch. But when we walked the boardwalk we couldn’t believe all the shops and restaurants you could choose from. There was even a little halderia which reminds me that I took the girls to a great little ice cream shop on Friday after school. We really enjoyed Playa del Puig and we’ll certainly be back!
