The Silver Lining

As frustrated as we were not to be here in July, I’m starting to see the silver lining.

For the past ten days the girls have been with me. And while some days were great, like walking around in Valencia proper, getting boba tea and going shopping, other days have been much more difficult. Like the first day and a half in San Antonio de Benegebar when we had no WiFi, and no vehicle and the pool was cloudy and being treated so we basically sat and stared at each other (totally kidding).

Maybe we weren’t meant to be here so early for the simple fact that it’s not easy for the girls to be here NOT in school. The time difference makes it hard to talk to friends at home and they’re in school anyway. They want to get started here…they NEED to get started here.

And tomorrow is that day! Last night we got to visit Iale, the school that Leah and Kiersten will be attending. There was a parent meeting that was primarily in Spanish and a short tour, but the highlight for us was uniforms. It was a big campus, and reminded me of Arizona where they will be in different buildings separated by short walks. Let’s get this show on the road!

And a Duffin Dagels picture just because we got a kick out of this Dunkin’ Donuts knock off. Kiersten had a chocolate iced donut with kinder egg chocolates on it. Hattie had one that was vanilla frosted with blueberries shredded coconut and a chips ahoy cookie to look like Cookie Monster and Leah had a chocolate frosted with kit-kat!
