Tricks or Treats???

We were in Charleston for Halloween. It was on a Wednesday this year and I had to teach so Mitch took the afternoon off and came to Charleston with us. Cynthia and I had talked before Halloween and she was on board with our Alice in Wonderland theme, and Macy joined in the fun as the Cheshire Cat. I was able to help Mitch start getting the girls ready. Of course, they were adorable!!! Matt and Cynthia came over with the kids and they were off. They started in a family friendly neighborhood on the East side of town. Then proceeded back to mom and dad's neighborhood, Deerfield. Mom had prepared dinner for all of us...a pot of chili, italian beef sandwhiches, and homemade apple crisp. While we were there Leah and Macy had lots of fun passing out treats to all the little ghost and ghouls that rang the doorbell.

After we wrapped things up at Gigi and Papa's house, we packed up the girls and went over to see my friend Rachel and her family. She and her husband live out in the country so they pass out candy at her parents house, plus it is her mothers (Sue) birthday. Sue is great, and always has extra special treats for the kids. We spent a good half-hour there hanging out and visiting...the kids ate candy, and then we made the trek back to Decatur. They loved it, and were such polite little monsters. Maybe this year I will actually let them eat some of the candy, ha!
