Day 3, Dinosaur National Monument

On Day 3, we woke up excited and ready to go. I'd heard good things about Dinosaur National Monument, and the girls were definitely eager. We only had a little over an hour for a drive. Dinosaur did not disappoint!!! The first stop we made I grabbed the girls the National Park Passports so they could get stamps at all our stops along the way. They thought that was super cool. And we had several more destinations to get to.

We arrived at the welcome center and took a trolley up to the actual exhibit. All of the fossils are in their original location. They've been dusted off but are still preserved in the ground and they just built a building around them. You walk up a ramp to see different bones still stuck in the side of a mountain. The girls were having fun talking about the Camposaurus, the Allosaurus, and the Diplodycus.

After that we went for a drive through the park until we came to the Petroglyphs. Petroglyphs are ancient artwork in the rock. Leah and Kiersten were super excited to hike up the hill to see all the artwork. There were geckos, people and some abstract art. It was pretty cool to see.

When we finished up at Dinosaur we got in the car and started heading to our next destination...Salt Lake City!
