A few months back, I asked my friend Ellen if she wanted to do a summer road trip with the girls and I. We mentioned it in passing and in June decided to go for it. We mapped out a path to head West and picked a few places that we wanted to see.
We jumped in the car on Friday July 8th and didn't look back. The first day of the trip was our longest, but we made excellent time. Our goal was to make it to Colorado Springs, Colorado. Google Maps said it would take 13 hours and 23 minutes. We did it in 14 hours, with 4 quick stops.
Fortunately, Ellen has family in Colorado Springs, so that meant we had a place to stay. The girls had a great time playing with the rabbits, and Leah was very excited to meet Stacey. She was very close friends with Mrs. Hatayama, Leah's 2nd grade teacher.
