Mediterranean Sea

While the girls were in school on Friday we decided to head South. Initially I wanted to take Gigi and Papa to Peñiscola but it’s almost a two hour drive. Instead we opted for Xativa. The Castle Xativa was home to the Borgias family…who eventually had two brothers become Popes. I guess there is a Showtime series about them. We’ll have to check it out. There was an Earthquake in the 1700’s so parts of the castle had to be redone. It was pretty fun to see and had beautiful views from the top.

After we finished at the castle we headed to Cullera. We made a quick stop by the plant where Mitch will be working in the Spring. As we were driving I said “oh look, ADM!”

Of course Gigi and Papa wanted to see the Mediterranean. And the views from Cullera are amazing. We had no trouble finding parking on a Friday in December. We walked the beach a little ways and find a little restaurant. We enjoyed lots of Tapas for lunch. The fried Camembert was amazing, we had potatoes bravas, the grilled squid was amazing! We shared octopus, shrimp and mussels too! The sun felt so good.
